POSITION: Brugal Brand Ambassador
LOCATION: Five Key Markets
REPORTS TO: Next Level Marketing Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of The Brugal Brand Ambassador is to help build brand equity while driving accelerated volume growth. The Brand Ambassador will work in conjunction with the Marketing team from Shaw Ross, the local sales teams and the distributor sales teams in each market. The Brand Ambassador will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Execute an assigned schedule of on and off-premise sampling events.
- Sell-in sampling program promotions into assigned on and off-premise accounts. and leverage the events into increased case buys for Brugal.
- Build relationships with 100 assigned on and off-premise accounts.
- Train and educate the staff in each assigned account on Brugal.
- Effectively merchandise each assigned accounts with Brugal POS.
- Secure Brugal drink features on account drink menus.
- Take advantage of local PR opportunities in liaison with the Brugal PR agency.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Brugal Brand Ambassador reports directly to the Next Level Program Director with a strong dotted line relationship to Brugal and the Shaw-Ross Brand Teams. The position will work closely with an assigned Shaw-Ross sales leader as well as with the distributor teams in each market to allow them to effectively support their accounts.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Build and sustain effective, professional relationships with the Akvinta executive team, the distributor teams and the assigned on and off-premise customers.
- Secure high-quality back-bar distribution targets in assigned accounts.
- Develop impactful feature drink menu plan to drive brand pull.
- Train and educate account staffs and consumers on Akvinta Vodka.
- Execute consumer samplings, brand building promotions and special events.
- Effectively manage assigned budgets and track and measure program results.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Ability to work independently and to plan their own time and activities.
- Willingness to work full-time, non-traditional hours as required.
- Passionate about the beverage alcohol industry and Rum category.
- Ability to become an expert on Brugal Rum and conversant with the TEG scotch portfolio.
- A Dominican heritage (second generation) plus an ability to speak Spanish will be an asset, although not a prime requirement.
- Customer driven and consumer focused.
- Sales ability to influence and partner with customers and co-workers.
T & E AND ACTIVITY BUDGETS
Each Ambassador will be provided with an effective annual T & E budget of $15,000 ($1,250 / month) that they will be responsible to monitor and manage. This budget will cover all job related expenses such as:
- Mileage
- Cell phone
- Internet
- Parking
- Tolls
- Tips
- POS storage unit (if needed)
- Account entertainment
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- College degree
- Beverage Alcohol sales, marketing or promotion experience
- Knowledge of the local market
- Existing relationships with key accounts
- Clean driving record and good credit history
- Must be able to provide own transportation to and from accounts and events
- Ability to manage and track budgets
- Demonstrated computer, communication and presentation skills
